FROM CLAIRNEL
Next Jesus was taken into the wild by the Spirit for the Test. The Devil was ready to give it. Jesus prepared for the Test by fasting forty days and forty nights”. Matthew 4:1-2
In February we enter the season of Lent. Lent is a period of 40 days before Easter, which is to be used for prayer, study, and “fasting”, in preparation for celebrating Easter. Early in the Christian Church, the period of Lent was used as a time to educate potential converts, who would then join the church Easter week.
Over the years I have had many adults who have told me that you wish we could have an adult Confirmation class. You realize that there were things you have forgotten, or never knew. With this in mind, this year I have decided to use our Lenten Mid-Week time to focus on “Christianity 101”. We will share lessons similar to some of the Confirmation classes, and the some of the Confirmands will share with us their Confirmation Speeches.

2011 FOOD RESOURCE BANK PROJECT
Listed below are the names of those who helped Beckmeyer Vineyard during harvest and donated their time and five hundred five gallon buckets of grapes to the Foods Resource Bank—in the amount of $1,000. One lady brought ten pickers in need of work, paid them herself, then donated their buckets picked to FRB. Three others of this group decided to donate their harvest to a young couple in the community in need of help. Thanks to the many others who helped.
